Job Description:
Prefer certifications in electrical and/or voltage trade.
Performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure that all students, staff, and the community are provided as a safe, attractive and clean, and healthy environment for learning and work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repair tasks in a variety of areas and as assigned by Director of Facilities/Transportation.
Ensure that the Facilities and grounds are safe for students and staff.
Work cooperatively with custodial employees, staff, and administrators.
Ensure that PM's and inspections of equipment and systems are performed in a timely manner.
Respond to emergency situations and perform necessary repairs.
Use the work order system, making sure that work orders have been written and approved before performing tasks, except in emergency situations.
All duties to help maintain and upkeep of the campus.
Recommend repairs or procedures that are beyond the scope of responsibilities, skill or experience, to the Facilities Director.
Ensure that all applicable fire, safety, health, and environmental regulations and laws are observed and met.
Maintain an adequate supply of parts and supplies need in repairs, and request needed supplies through the established procedures of the district.
Make recommendations for improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of all maintenance operations of the district.
Attend required safety meetings.
Maintain a cooperative and pleasant attitude at all times, particularly when in the presence of staff, students, and community visitors.
Serve as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire, and grooming and an effective work ethic.
Adhere to federal and state regulations and statues.
Perform and duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Hold and maintain a valid driver's license for the type of equipment to be driven, with no serious violations.
Demonstrate knowledge, and experience, and proficiency in several areas of maintenance (plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical, HVAC systems).
Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skill to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and community.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively to supervisor, staff, and administration.
Must pass a State and Federal Background, and Child Maltreatment background check.
Prefer certifications in electrical and/or voltage trade.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel, lifting, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 100 lbs.
COMPENSATION:
Maintenance Tech 1.
This salary lane will be used for non-certificated and entry level positions.
Maintenance Tech 2.
This salary lane will be paid when a Technician is in the process of getting certification and has completed 150 hours of technical training.
Maintenance Tech 3.
This salary lane will be paid when a Technician has completed certification in such areas as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
If certification is completed during a contract year, the Technician will not be moved to this lane until the next contract year.
